The Joint Commission is a United States-based non-profit tax-exempt organization that accredits more than 22,000 US health care organizations and programs. The Joint Commission International (JCI) branch accredits medical services from around the world.

The JCI mission is to improve the safety and quality of care in the international community through the provision of education, publications, consultation, evaluation and accreditation services.

JCI is committed to keeping pace with the dynamics of global health care while remaining the standard bearer for The Gold Seal of Approval, a universally recognized symbol of quality and patient safety.
